You have probably found yourself thinking:

  • How do I help them stay present enough to do EFT?
  • Why can't I even track what is happening?
  • How can I work with the HUGE distortions they have about each other's behavior?
  • CAN THIS COUPLE EVER FEEL SAFE WITH EACH OTHER?

The Problem

The Solution

Academy for Therapist Evolution combines everything I've learned from 25 years of clinical practice and 20 years of supervision, and a ten-year deep dive into trauma theory and practice...

You will develop:

A clear way to understand the complex cycles of couples with trauma

The ability to keep your footing in explosive and fast escalations

 Innovative ways to use EFIT and EFFT techniques to help your couples steady the chaos

 Confidence and the capacity to guide traumatized couples to relational safety

This isn't just another EFT course.

It's a systematic approach to building the confidence and competence needed with the most essential skills for certification!

This is the confidence that comes from experiential learning of the essential skills - not just cognitive understanding.

Just like our couples learn and grow experientially, so do we as therapists!

  • 7 CEs available for purchase after course completion.
  • 5+ hours of pre-recorded teaching material;
  • 10 hours of live Q&A available, including videos of sessions;
  • Hours of self-directed exercises with session transcripts and questions for your exploration of your own couple challenges!
  • Ability to comment on the course platform to ask questions and engage with me and other course participants.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  1. Define dissociation and identify at least three ways dissociation can be recognized in couples therapy;
  2. Describe three ways habitual dissociation hinders cycle de-escalation in EFT;
  3. Describe the three-phase model of treatment for Dissociative Disorders and its relationship to the three Stages of EFT;
  4. Identify the five autonomic defenses of Structural Dissociation Theory and the typical ways they can be seen in couple's dynamics in EFT therapy;
  5. Develop skills to track and understand the complex negative cycles that arise as a result of dissociation in one or more members of the couple;
  6. Understand and explain the importance of developing meta-cognitive skills for individuals with trauma and dissociation, and the ways in which EFT practice helps develop those skills;
  7. Describe three methods to help people with trauma widen their Windows of Tolerance in order to do the work of EFT.

Live Q&As:

These are optional and not required for course completion, nor to receive CEs, but you are welcome to come to any and all of them to watch video of sessions and ask questions, make comments, and join with community!
